Your Microneedling Session
Your Dermapen 4 microneedling session begins with a gentle cleansing to remove sunscreen, makeup, or surface oils. The Dp Dermaceuticals™ Tri-Phase Cleanser progresses from a balm to a gel and, finally, to a milk to hydrate, purify, and nourish the skin.
We then apply a personalized serum that serves multiple valuable functions:
- Protects against friction and abrasion
- Allows the device to glide smoothly over the skin
- Ensures that active ingredients enter the skin through the micro-channels
We administer the Dermapen 4 device to the skin at varying needle depths. Although the procedure will create thousands of micro-punctures over a 30-minute session, it is well-tolerated by patients. Most patients feel pressure, warmth, and a mild scratching sensation but rarely pain.
Dermapen 4 Microneedling Results
Your skin may be red, warm, and sensitive (similar to a mild to moderate sunburn) for 2 to 3 days after treatment. Is Dermapen 4 safe?
Dermapen 4 is a medical-grade skin rejuvenation device that is very safe when administered by a qualified medical professional. It has built-in mechanisms to minimize the possibility of cross-contamination and ensure single-use.
How many treatments do I need?
Most patients will need at least 3 Dermapen treatments (spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart) to experience the entire range of benefits. However, the results can be enjoyed for up to 2 years before any follow-up treatments are needed.
When shouldn’t Dermapen 4 be used?
Dermapen cannot be used on active acne breakouts or other lesions, on people with bleeding disorders, pregnant or nursing women, and people who have taken medication containing isotretinoin (such as Accutane) in the last 6 months.
