latisse

If you’re a woman in the Vancouver area, dreaming of having naturally long, dark luscious lashes, Heights Laser Centre may have the answer. Love Your Lashes™ is our exclusive treatment for longer, thicker lashes using Latisse. This product can extend and add volume to thin and sparse lashes. It is the first FDA approved easy to use treatment that patients can use at home to improve lash growth. Eyelashes become longer, fuller and darker when applying Latisse daily. Latisse is available by prescription only and is safe, convenient and non-invasive.

Active ingredient bimatoprost helps Latisse users achieve longer, thicker, and darker lashes. For centuries women have been lamenting their insufficient lashes while lusting after those few and far between people born with naturally long, luscious, striking lashes.  Latisse is an easy-to-use, at home treatment that is applied every evening to the base of the lashes. Results from Latisse gradually appear over a 16-week treatment period.

How Eyelash Growth Works With Latisse

Latisse is the first FDA approved treatment for insufficient lashes and a welcome replacement for painstakingly gluing on false eyelashes. Latisse contains the active ingredient bimatoprost that makes the lash growth possible. Research suggests that the growth of eyelashes occurs by increasing the number of hairs, and the duration of the anagen (or growth) phase. Lashes can grow longer, thicker and darker because the active substance prolongs the growth phase. Latisse works gradually over a 16-week treatment period. The use of Latisse requires a prescription, so an appointment with a medical doctor is needed.

Latisse may not be right for everyone. Patients with a history of glaucoma or are on medication for eye pressure or similar conditions should not use Latisse.

Latisse Facts

Latisse product

A Latisse clinical study was conducted at 16 sites across the US and included 278 participants, featuring women and men of various ages (22 to 78), backgrounds and eye colors. Throughout the course of a 16-week treatment program, each participant was photographed and evaluated at 4-week intervals (week 0 to week 16) for differences in their overall lash prominence, including elements of length, thickness and fullness. At 16 weeks, the results showed that Latisse was effective for 78% of those participating, versus 18% for the vehicle group. Vehicle is the same as Latisse, without its active ingredient. In its first year alone, approximately 1.5 million bottles of Latisse were prescribed.

What to Expect From Latisse

Latisse has helped many people enjoy a natural looking eyelash extension. Many people wish they had longer, darker, more luscious lashes. In years past our only options for enhancing our lashes have been layering on mascara, or painstakingly gluing on false lashes. Gluing each individual lash on one at a time is a process that can take hours, cost hundreds, and require consistent upkeep.

Latisse is so much easier to get similar results.

Latisse solution is a once-a-day self application treatment. It is applied at night to your upper eyelash line and as you blink, it is transferred to your lower lashes. It is essential to apply the treatment routinely every night or the full benefits will be compromised. You will start to see more length in as little as 4 weeks and you should achieve full growth in 16 weeks. Discontinuing treatment will cause the eyelashes to revert back to their normal length, so clients need to be diligent about their nightly application. Longer fuller lashes will be maintained as long as Latisse is continued.

Heights Laser Centre is centrally located on Hastings Street, serving the Vancouver area for Latisse. If you are interested in learning more about Latisse, book your consultation with Dr. Jaffer. Latisse does require a prescription and a consultation is needed to determine if you are a good candidate for Latisse. Dr. Jaffer will make sure it’s right for you and give you a prescription so you can start application.
