Are Dermal Fillers Better Than BOTOX?
Neither is better than the other. While both are cosmetic injectables, fillers and BOTOX work differently and provide different improvements. BOTOX relaxes facial muscles to smooth out wrinkles. Fillers smooth away wrinkles by restoring volume from below. Both options are also used for lip enhancement. Fillers add volume and definition to the lips; BOTOX can make the top lip look fuller by allowing it to roll out and up (BOTOX lip flip).

Is one treatment enough with dermal filler products?
Each of our dermal fillers and injectables provides significant improvement in a single visit. Patients who want a more pronounced effect can have a touch-up treatment during a follow-up appointment.
When will I notice a difference after my dermal filler treatment?
Dermal fillers add volume to the epidermis instantly. Most people will see their final results within 7 to 10 days of their injection once the swelling has subsided.
How long will the results last?
The full effects of dermal fillers should last for about a year. Touch-ups can be done after 6 months if necessary. Many patients experience longer-lasting results and don’t need re-treatment for 18 months. You can expect the following with our dermal fillers:
JUVÉDERM Ultra XC typically lasts about 6 months.
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA typically lasts 10 to 12 months.
JUVÉDERM VOLIFT can last between 12 and 18 months.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA can last up to 18 months.
JUVÉDERM VOLUX can last up to 24 months.
BELOTERO BALANCE can last up to 6 months.

Can I get my fillers removed or dissolved?
Heights Laser Centre uses dermal fillers that gradually break down over time. They contain hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the body.
Our facial appearance is constantly evolving with age and other factors. That means what looks good right now may not look as good later. For example, you may prefer a prominent pout in your youth but favour a more proportionate lip shape and size.
Permanent fillers and fat don’t allow the option of modifying your results. Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers enable you to be the best version of yourself as the years pass and your features and aesthetic tastes change. Hyaluronidase, an enzyme that is also naturally found in the body, can be used to remove or dissolve hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers.
Is dermal filler treatment painful?
Most patients find treatment very tolerable and experience little to no pain. The products we offer include an anesthetic to minimize discomfort. Additionally, we can use ice or a topical numbing agent to keep you comfortable.
What should I do to prepare for my treatment?
Your physician will review pre-treatment guidelines during your consultation. To reduce swelling and bruising, we recommend avoiding medications and foods that have an anti-inflammatory effect beginning a week before your treatment. These include aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, ginger, garlic, ginseng, and gingko biloba.
Can I expect bruising after dermal fillers?
You may experience mild bruising and swelling after hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. Your physician can provide an arnica supplement to help reduce swelling and redness.
